1. 鶯鶯傳 元稹

鶯鶯傳is a chuanqi literature, which is a form of fictional short story in Classical Chinese, is about the emotional entanglement between 張生 and 崔鶯鶯. The reason I want to read this book is because that I know the author uses personality, behavior, and plot contradictions, etc. to support the complex interactions between the main characters and to make characters’ images in the short story more diversified. Thus, this advantage really attracts me to read and explore how those contradictions works in the story to make it famous. Also, I am interested in the love and affection in ancient time that how the author would describe because he can’t write too straightforwardly or sexually. So, I think this is worth reading.

2. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

Pride and Prejudice has enchanted readers around the world, in every language, for 200 years. It is classic love story. I heard it before, but I did not read it. The characters are described delicately among love, affection and friendship. All these details come together to make characters more clearly. From the title and summary on the website, there are some things that are worth thinking deeply and reading. It is about human personality and attitude. When a person, like Mr. Darcy, thinks that he is a little better than others, he always puts himself in a higher position. Therefore, it is difficult for two parties to have a good communication, which often becomes the biggest barrier in our real lives. In our daily life, we often become the main roles in the book unwittingly, and being Mr. Pride or Miss Prejudice is the easiest mistake all we may make. So, I think this is worth thinking deeply and explore the problems I may have.
