My Autonomous English/Language Learning Plan

In this semester, I've learned a lot of useful online learning tools and websites which can improve my English ability in the fields of reading, listening, writing, and speaking. My learning plan for English will first focus on reading and writing, and then listening and speaking. Especially practice speaking, vocabulary, and grammar. First, to understand more content and advance my speed of reading, I will use AWL and some news websites. AWL can increase my vocabulary, so this is a basis that I must know the words in particular amount of words and be familiar with the common vocabulary. After getting ready for that, I will go to the websites, like CNN and BBC, to read extensively to connect with the world and to know more things. Because of the Internet development, reading those foreign news websites is not limited anymore. We can download many apps on our cellphones and then read on the MRT or the bus. My goal is to read at least three different categories of news and later ...

Book to Read 2

My Response to The Graveyard Book ●       How much did you enjoy or not enjoy reading this book? I do enjoy reading The Graveyard Book and I think it is indeed a special book for three reasons. First of all, it is about an unusual life of an unusual little boy who has been growing up in a graveyard; Secondly, I think the beginning of the book is terrifying because the writer creates a crime scene in which Bod's families are all killed except for himself. Finally, there are many things that readers can learn from this book, such as friendship, parenting, and even bullying. ●       How easy or difficult was this book to read and what new idea did you get from this book? From my perspective, this book is quite difficult to read because of the vocabulary it contained. Some of the characters, who may have lived hundreds of years ago, may use the language at that time and that could be incomprehensible to me. Besides, I also lea...

Thoughts on Learning English through Social Media

1.        2. My Instagram account have followed 9gag and HipDict. These two accounts are about sharing something interesting, funny, and humorous. I introduce 9gag first. 9gag often shares some pictures with few simple words or sentences or short and funny videos. Personally, I think videos are less helpful that those picture with a short sentence because a picture with an eye-catching big words are more impressive. Sometimes when I see some funny pictures with big and colorful words, I memorize longer. The second one is HipDict. I like this more because it is more humorous. Each picture will introduce a vocabulary, and the interpretation of these words is like a needle, poking into our hearts, and breaking down the inner words that we want to say but dare not say. It is also like a magnifier, magnifying the small things that are used to in life, and reinterpreting them from the perspective of humor. That’s why I like to see most posts of HipDict.

Recommendation of an English learning APP

Recommendation of an English learning APP - Erudite         I am going to recommend an English learning APP called Erudite . For me, it is the most useful bilingual dictionary. When you look up a word, the results from this dictionary are many as its name, erudite, which means having a lot of knowledge. After typing the word, you will see not only different meanings of that word but also synonyms and antonyms. Apart from showing the various definitions of a word, the app also shows a lot of supplementary information including collocations, grammar, phrase, and example sentence. It can also be as a translation app with support for over 20 languages including Hindi, Arabic, Portuguese, Spanish and French. I often use it to look up vocabulary because I can listen how to pronounce and check its tense how to change. Also, I like its design that it convenient for users to learn collocations and phrases. Other apps may not have the same function, so...
